We were really serious about work, and we were still thinking about it outside the lab ...
... but only for so long
... then the students decided to try out for another career as models (above), or simply poke fun at "shifu" (Chinese for mentor) (left)
We were deadly serious about the phytoplanktons, at the University of Hawaii at Hilo with Dr. Jason Adolf ...
... but we could only sit there for so long. A field trip provides both research samples and rejuvenation (left).
When we could not go to Hawaii, we would go to some state park for fossil hunting (right) ...
After a day of hard work in summer, pizza outside at the Knowledge Fountain seemed to be the perfect treat ...
From time to time, we go out for lunch so everybody gets re-energized (by 536 calories per person on average to be exact) ...
